    Private Coaching is a partnership that’s completely centered around you! We’ll personalize a gentle yoga practice thats meaningful, take it step by step and I’ll be there to guide and support you every step of the way!

  • Stretch & Relax Class - Online

    Stretch & Relax Online is a 30 minute class that’s designed to help you to feel more Calm, Relaxed & Centered while you stretch. Class is every Monday & Wednesday night at 4:30 PM PST.

ABOUT JOEL

Welcome, I’m Joel and I’m the founder of Heart Center Wellness. If you’re on this page it means that you’re probably looking to find ways to feel more calm & centered in your life in the same way I was when I began my journey.

As I look back, my anxiety started as early as I can remember. By the time i was 14 I was prescribed zoloft for anxiety and panic attacks which also triggered a belief that something must be wrong with me and led me doing everything I could to keep it a secret! As time wen’t on I found more coping mechanisms like alcohol and began living smaller and smaller until a day at age 23 when I realized that my anxiety had gotten so bad that I could barely leave the house! It’s said that “the awareness is the gold” and for me it’s true. That moment of awareness where I truly understood just how bad things had become turned Into the wake-up call I needed to begin the process of healing.

I began taking therapy at my school and reading books on panic and anxiety. Slowly I began to work with and move towards my anxiety instead of hiding from it, which is the most important piece. I also began a Masters Degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology and over time as I looked for more holistic ways to heal, began to uncover the Yoga, Meditation and Centering practices that are still the cornerstone of my daily wellness practice today. I wish that I could say its an easy process, but the reality is that all the best magic comes with consistent practice over time.

Now many years later as a Certified Gentle Yoga Instructor and Health & Wellbeing Coach, I’m grateful for the opportunity to share these powerful physical and mental practices with others and see the profound impact they have on their lives as well.
